HUBUNGAN PERAN DAN DUKUNGAN KELUARGA DENGAN RENDAHNYA KUNJUNGAN LANSIA PADA POSYANDU PUSKESMAS BUNOBOGU BUOL

Abstract

Older adults are a vulnerable group who require routine health monitoring through elderly posyandu services. However, low attendance remains a problem in the working area of the Bunobogu Public Health Center, Buol Regency. This study aimed to determine the relationship between family roles and support and the low attendance of older adults at the posyandu. A quantitative cross-sectional design was applied to 89 older adults selected through purposive sampling. Data were collected using questionnaires and analyzed with the Chi-Square test. The results showed that most older adults lacked family roles (69.6%) and had limited family support (73%), and the majority were less active in attending posyandu (68.5%). Significant relationships were found between family roles and attendance (p = 0.000) and between family support and attendance (p = 0.000). Older adults who received family roles and support were more likely to attend posyandu. Most participants had primary education, worked as farmers, and lived with family members, highlighting the importance of family involvement in maintaining elderly health. It was concluded that family roles and support are crucial for improving elderly participation in posyandu services. Efforts to increase attendance should focus on family empowerment and education.
