PENERAPAN PERAWATAN LUKA DENGAN METODE MOIST WOUND HEALING PADA PASIEN DIABETIC FOOT ULCER DI RIZKY WOUND CARE CENTRE

Abstract

Diabetic Foot Ulcer (DFU) is a chronic complication of diabetes mellitus that frequently occurs and can lead to serious consequences if not properly managed. Based on data from Rizky Wound Care Centre (RWCC) Palu City, the number of visits by diabetes mellitus patients with DFU showed annual variations, with 250 visits in 2022, increasing to 375 visits in 2023, decreasing to 250 visits in 2024, and rising again to 270 visits in 2025. Modern wound care using the moist wound healing method is considered an effective approach to accelerate the wound healing process. This study employed a case study design with a nursing care approach, including assessment, nursing diagnosis, planning, implementation, and evaluation. Data were collected through interviews, observation, physical examination, and documentation of wound conditions. The application of wound care using the moist wound healing method showed improvements in wound conditions, indicated by a reduction in necrotic tissue, decreased exudate, the appearance of granulation tissue, and an accelerated wound healing process. The application of the moist wound healing method is effective in supporting the wound healing process in patients with Diabetic Foot Ulcer (DFU). This method can be used as a nursing intervention in chronic wound care to improve the quality of nursing services.
