Hypertension is a common chronic condition that requires long-term management and consistent patient adherence to treatment. Family support plays a crucial role in encouraging patients to follow medication regimens and utilize available healthcare services, such as community health centers. This study aimed to examine the relationship between family support and medication adherence among hypertensive patients at Kayuwou Public Health Center, Sindue Tobata District. This research employed a quantitative approach with an analytical survey design using a cross-sectional method. The study population consisted of 146 hypertensive patients recorded in March 2025, with a sample of 107 respondents selected using the Slovin formula and purposive sampling technique. Data were analyzed using the Chi-Square test. The findings revealed that most respondents received good family support (51.4%) and demonstrated high adherence to antihypertensive medication (56.1%). Statistical analysis showed a significant relationship between family support and medication adherence (p = 0.000; p < 0.05). In conclusion, family involvement is an essential factor in improving patient adherence to hypertension treatment. Strengthening educational programs at community health centers by actively involving family members is recommended to enhance awareness and promote consistent medication use among patients with hypertension.
