Dyspepsia is a symptom complex characterized by epigastric pain or discomfort, frequently influenced by psychological factors including stress. Stress responses may increase gastric acid secretion and alter gastrointestinal motility. This study aimed to analyze the relationship between stress levels and dyspepsia incidence among internal medicine inpatients at Mokopido Hospital, Toli-Toli. A quantitative analytic study with a cross-sectional design was conducted from January to March 2025. The population consisted of 328 patients, with 77 respondents selected using proportional stratified sampling. Stress levels were measured using the Perceived Stress Scale (PSS-10), and dyspepsia was assessed based on clinical symptom criteria. Data were analyzed using the Chi-Square test with α=0.05. Results showed that 40.3% experienced mild stress, 36.4% severe stress, and 23.4% moderate stress. Dyspepsia occurred in 50.6% of respondents. The Chi-Square test showed p-value 0.000 (p<0.05). There was a significant relationship between stress level and dyspepsia incidence. Stress management–based nursing interventions are recommended to prevent digestive disorders.
