Based on the reviewers’ comments, the editor will make a decision to accept or reject the manuscript under the following possible outcomes:
Reviewer Selection
The selection of reviewers is a crucial part of the publication process. Therefore, the editor assigns reviewers based on several considerations, including their expertise, reputation, specific recommendations, and previous experience with the reviewer’s performance. In addition, the editor avoids selecting reviewers who are slow to respond, careless in their evaluations, or who fail to provide clear justification for their opinions, whether critical or supportive. The editor will also confirm the availability of potential reviewers before sending the manuscript for review.
Timeliness
MARKETIKA: Indonesian Journal of Retail Management is committed to providing timely responses and clear information regarding editorial decisions and publication. The editors believe that an efficient editorial process is an important service to both authors and the wider scientific community. Therefore, reviewers are encouraged to provide feedback within the agreed review period. If reviewers require more time than initially expected, they are asked to confirm a new date for submitting their review. This allows the editorial team to inform authors about any delays and, if necessary, to seek alternative reviewers.
Anonymity
The editor does not disclose the identity of reviewers to the authors, nor the identity of authors to the reviewers, unless a reviewer explicitly requests to be identified. The editor prefers that reviewers remain anonymous throughout the review process and thereafter. Reviewers are required not to reveal their identity to the authors without the permission of the editor.
